Teach Personal Hygiene Through Repetition
Basic hygiene routines are another important part of daily wellness.
Handwashing, brushing teeth, bathing, changing into clean clothing, covering coughs and sneezes, and learning to keep personal spaces reasonably tidy are skills that develop with practice.
For younger children, simple reminders, songs, pictures, or step-by-step instructions can make routines easier to remember. As children become more capable, parents can gradually reduce assistance and allow them to complete more tasks independently while continuing to provide appropriate supervision.
Praise effort and consistency rather than expecting young children to perform every task perfectly.
